SELFISH C**T

     AGIT-PUNK PERFORMANCE PROJECT

Born out of the contemporary art scene in the early 2000’s in London, Selfish C**t (SC) hit the stage with two songs ( Britain Is shit , Fu*k the poor) intent on "making it in the now". It was influenced by a collective of painters  of the 5 years gallery , led by artist Marc Hulson and Ester Planas, with a rebellious and dissident approach to art and music.

As the debris of 9/11 settled on the global landscape and the gulf war loomed, SC was born out of conflict with the times and their surroundings. The band became notorious in the British press for their confrontational and provocative shows.

As the project developed into an avant-noise-rock four piece, it begun to perform at international festivals, music venues and art events , including appearances at the Frieze Art Fair and the Istanbul Art biennale. It was selected as the opening act for Jarvis Cocker's Meltdown Festival at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and as one of the opening events of La Gaite Lyrique in Paris .
